Raised in Paris with the musical heritage of his Sicilian parents ever-present, Alagna sings their homeland's tarantellas, waltzes and lullabies with thrilling authenticity.
"I wanted as many people as possible to see (the music from The Sicilian album) at a concert, and that desire became a necessity. I have a very loyal following, replica uhren and I wanted them to share something that has been buried deep down inside me ever since I was a child," says Alagna.
Some of this album's many highlights are Abballati, Parla più piano, Mexico, Les filles du bord de mer and O sole mio.
"For as long as I can remember, the echoes of these songs have had a very special place in my heart. They are very happy memories, with a mixture of nostalgia, tears and laughter, family stories filled with sunshine and legends, suffering, too, but above all, genuine communion," says Alagna.
